Dr. Rindlaub specializes in the evidence-based treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, and PTSD for young people ages 14-30. - Define what they really value in parenting, and translating that into action
- Get “on the same page” with their partner in parenting
- Support the work their child is doing in their own therapy (Dr. Rindlaub welcomes collaboration with other providers)
- Manage their own emotions in various parenting contexts
- Parent their children with a balance of warmth AND high expectations
- Effectively encourage “good” behaviors, while simultaneously discouraging “unwanted” behaviors
What to Expect
Dr. Rindlaub’s therapy style has been described as warm, empathic, and solution-oriented. She knows that a strong, safe relationship between a clinician and a client is essential – but not sufficient on its own – for deep and lasting change to be possible. She strives to make an authentic connection with each and every client, from the very first phone call onward. Dr. Rindlaub also actively works to affirm clients of all backgrounds and identities, through a lens of antiracism and LGBTQ+ allyship.
Good treatment always begins with good assessment. After all, we cannot “solve” a problem without first understanding it thoroughly! Therefore, Dr. Rindlaub’s first task is always to assess her client’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and share her findings with the client in a developmentally-appropriate way. This then allows her to teach skills and offer solutions that will truly address the problems at hand. Dr. Rindlaub also administers empirically validated symptom questionnaires regularly, to ensure that progress is indeed being made on the concerns that brought you to treatment.
For individual clients, Dr. Rindlaub utilizes cognitive and behavioral therapies including:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD (ERP)
- Prolonged Exposure therapy for PTSD (PE)
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents (IPT-A)
- Earlier in her career, Dr. Rindlaub developed a specialization in fully adherent Dialectical Behavior Therapy for adolescents and adults. While she no longer provides DBT, her nine years as a DBT therapist inform all of the work she does currently.
In her parenting work, Dr. Rindlaub relies on evidence-based strategies from:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
- Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFT)
- Parent Management Training (PMT)
- Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A)
